The Midnight Riders was initially formed as a social organization of volunteers for the sole purpose of merriment, but upon hearing news that the Calf Scramble program at Rodeo Houston was in need of a sponsor for the "First Catch" Award, the group decided to help.
A 501(c)(3) was formed to raise funds to give in a charitable manner for the purchase of awards and support to junior exhibitors and contestants involved in livestock contests and to support activities of further education in agriculture and the trades.
As we watch through the rail from the outside of the arena, we see the future of Texas. The show day is the end of a long road of hard work that started with a hard-fought contest between competitors, calves, sand and the elements.
The dirty scrambler covered in mud (and other greasy stuff) has given their all only to commit to a year of effort raising a project to bring back. These young people will help build our state and nation into the future. These young people have, grit, and determination. These are the kind of young people we want to invest in. Not just for their future, but for all of ours as well.

One of the highlights of supporting the youth involved in these programs is the many "Thank You" notes we receive. We have kept every one and pass them around at our meetings for the members to read. It really shows the difference we can all make by working together to support the future.
